REVIEW: Urban decay sustainable shadow set

I bought this set a couple of months back having saved up for it for ages! I've tried it out and here's my review :)

What urban decay says about it: Urban Decay Sustainable Shadow Box contains ten of the best selling Urban Decay eyeshadows, that will flatter everyone

Price: £22.50

What I thought: This set is absolutely fantastic! First of all the packaging is really cute and looks really nice on my dressing table. The colours that come with the set are a great choice and all work really well together. They are placed in pairs that are recommended used together which work so well together but also the shadows can be worn alone, with others from the set or with other eyeshadows. The pigmentation is great and the colours come out really vibrant. My favourites from the set are midnight cowboy rides again. This is actually the reason I bought the palette in the first place - I am in love with this shadow. It is SO glittery and flattering and can be used in the day or night. My other favourite is YDK which I first thought was quite boring and one I've seen many times before but the gold reflects in it are beautiful and it is so flattering on the eye. Oil slick can be compared to the famous black tied by mac and flash is very similar to mac's satellite dreams. So this is a cheap alternative to buying those! The only bad point is it isnt as long lasting as say mac but used with a good primer i.e. the primer potion that comes with it they last much longer. Truly a great buy.

Would I repurchase? Though these look like they will last me ages i will definitely be repurchasing.

The pictures were uploads in a strange order.

These swatches give a good idea of what the bottom colours look like
midnight cowboy rides again, flash, oil slick, kiddie pool, half baked
And these swatches give a better idea of what the top row look like:
ydk, flipside, grifter, uzi, twice baked.
The inside :)
The pretty packaging
All photos were taken by me hence the bad quality - sorry guys :/

Hope you had a great weekend and i hope you have a good week (im sure it will be better than mine - all i have is coursework to look forward to :()

Brick Lane: Coolest place on earth

Lady Gaga was absolutely exceptional! I have never ever seen anything like the concert before! She completely surpassed my expectations which were crazy high to begin with. She is genuinelly amazingly talented. I would love to see her again and again and again!
So today I went up to Brick lane in London with my best friend charlie. I bought some really nice vintage clothes which I may post later. This is what i wore:

The blazer is vintage, the scarf is vintage, the top is from my mums wardrobe - i dont know where she got it, the skirt is actually i dress i got from new look and the boots are from a little local shop near me and the bag is from asos. I love love love the whole dressed up vintage look :)

I hope you like the outfit.

Spring summer 2010 summary

Now we all know those cool people. The ones who can wear crazy stuff yet still follow all the latest trends efortlessly and always outshine everyone else around them yet appear to do it totally effortlessly. Yeah well im so not one of those people. I love love love fashion and clothes and it is second only to makeup in my obsessions. But I have to meticulously plan, summarise and write lists regarding clothes, trends and outfit combinations. So a few weeks ago one night I spent about 2 or 3 hours painstakingly going through all the ss10 catwalks of the major designers, copying and pasting images and selecting what I saw to be the biggest trends for ss110. Here are my finds :)

The ss10 trends are:
  • Lace
  • Leopard print
  • Nude
  • Military
  • Floral
  • Slips
  • Sequins
  • Cowboy
  • Ruffles
  • Feathers
  • Leather
  • Tribal
  • Denim
  • Clogs
You can already find these on the high street where the shops are bringing out their summer collections.

I also wrote a list of the clothes items I need to buy in the lead up to summer

  • Lace leggings (bought for £14 from new look)
  • Lace dress
  • Leopard print leggings
  • Leopard print top
  • Nude dress
  • Military jacket (now have two of these one normal length from urban outfitters and one cropped from jane norman)
  • Floral dress (already own a few of these but want some more)
  • Floral top
  • Floral skirt (recently purchased from boohoo.com)
  • Slip dress
  • Sequin top
  • Cowboy fringed ankle boots
  • Feathered skirt (lusting over one from topshop but dunno if i want to invest as these will go out as quickly as they came in)
  • Leather hot pants (£5 h and m sale)
  • Tribal dress (recently bought from boohoo.com but it was to big so its in the process of ebing exchanged for a smaller size)
  • Tribal top
  • Denim skirt (again already own a topshop one but want a lighter washed denim one)
  • Denim high waisted shorts
  • Denim oversized shirt
  • Gladiator sandals (have some from alst year but want some for this year with the ties that go right up to my knees)
  • Chanel inspired clogs (laugh all you want but already topshop and river island are full of them)
  • Armani inspired sunglasses
  • Floral leggings (another recent boohoo.com buy - i will do a haul on these once my tribal dress comes through)
Hope this helped everyone

Black smokey eye

So i went to a gig on friday - was amazing amazing fun :) The music was great, the venue was great the people were even better. Gonna do that much more often! And this was the look i wore. These pictures were taken after school one day when I was trying out the look. Hence the school uniform and plaits. To the actual gig i wore my hair long and straight and clotheswise i wore a free people layered black dress with sequin detail, lace leggings, a military cropped jacket and military boots. I had to get ready in the school toilets because i wasnt going home before the gig so i tried to use as little number of makeup products as i could.

Face :
  • Maybelline pure liquid mineral foundation in cameo
  • Clarins concealer stick
  • Benefit's 10 blush
Eyes:
  • Benefit badgal liner
  • Bourjois smokey eyes trio
  • Max factor false lash effect mascara
Lips:
  • Peachey lipcolour from benefit palette
See how little products i used to create a really dramatic and polished look.

Hope you like it :)

Inspiring fashion post

I put alot of time into choosing the outfits I wear when I go out in both the day and night and I'm one of those people who'll have planned their outfit weeks in advance for an event. The main place that I get inspiration for my outfits - apart from the catwalks - is lookbook. It is a wellknown website where people post their outfits for others to comment and like. There are some great looks on their and I say - check it out www.lookbook.nu. The people on there are painfully cool and fashionable and i try but fail to look anything like them XD These are looks that have inspired me today.

Hope your having a great week :)
